Acrylics on canvas
This painting comes from a beautiful wood near my home in the Peak District. This lovely peaceful place is where I take much inspiration for my work and I often walk here, making drawings to inform my paintings. Light filters through the leaves creating dramatic shadows over the forest floor and there are suggestions of purple and berry Summer fruits expressed by abstract marks in the foreground.
An original artwork, this painting has been created with high quality acrylic paints on deep edged canvas using impasto techniques layer on layer applied with a palette knife, creating a contemporary painting, somewhere between abstraction and realism. The painting continues round the sides, a frame is not needed and it is ready to hang.
Can be seen with Eclectic Gallery, Fitzrovia, London.
