Capturing the Light
Capturing the Light

"Capturing the Light" was inspired by a lovely forest close to my studio in the Peak District. My inspiration begins with my walks through the beautiful forest where I live close to the natural world. This is the foundation of a creative process and continues with intuitive imaginative development of the painting.
The light falls through beautiful leaves with bright colours as though the light is breaking through the trees, while the delicate textures created with a palette knife create abstraction in the foreground. A sense of distance has been created by the use of delicate painting techniques so that the viewer feels as though they are taking a journey in to the painting.
Acrylics on deep edge canvas.
120x90cms
Can be seen with the Wey Gallery, Godalming, Surrey.
