Wishing Wood
"Wishing Wood" is a beautiful wood near my home in the Peak District. This is a lovely peaceful place, where I take much inspiration for my work. Light filters through the leaves creating dramatic shadows over the forest floor where grasses and flowers grow expressed by abstract marks in the foreground. The rays of sunlight appearing through the trees are a new development in my work and will appear in subsequent paintings of forest scenes.
